My Everyday Makeup Routine!

Lately this is the makeup look I’ll wear on a daily basis – I’ve been trying to narrow it down to specific products so I can decide what I absolutely have to take when I travel to Japan later this year (any product/brand recommendations for while I’m there let me know!)

Firstly I always always start with my base, for some reason I just feel wrong doing my eyes before foundation etc. 

I will use the Covergirl stay fabulous (in classic ivory) on most days, it has a thick consistency and nice coverage which i like. The MAC prolong wear concealer (nc15) is the only concealer which will hide some particularly bad acne scars on my skin from some horrible pimply phases during my teen years as a result of being on and off birth control pills and switching brands which made my hormones go psycho. I always set that with a powder, usually the Rimmel Stay Matte just because its cheap and does its job – no dramas!

After base I usually move on to the eyebrows. Being a red head I have pretty fair eyebrows and eyelashes and over the years my hair has darkened somewhat so I put pretty big importance on having my eyebrows done before I leave the house to make sure they match my hair and also to cover a small scar above my left eye from an eyebrow piercing I had to take out a few weeks ago which is still pretty red and noticeable.

For day to day eyes I always stick to neutral matte brown shades – simple, casual and classy! For the most part I’ll use shades from the Lorac Pro palette but lately I’ve also been dipping into some makeupgeek shades I recently purchased.

Generally i’ll use Sable on the outer corner, Taupe covering the middle third and mauve in the inner corner, then i like to run a pencil brush under the lower lashes with Garnet.

I’ll always finish with mascara and eyeliner  – whether I wing the eyeliner or not depends on what mood I’m in,

Might be a bit full on for some people to wear everyday but I personally like to have a full face of makeup – to each their own!

Daffodil Inspired Eye Makeup

In honour of Daffodil Day yesterday I decided to create this look inspired by a Daffodil!

First off for my base I used an MUA primer, Chi Chi Fabulous & Flawless Foundation, MAC Pro Longwear Concealer and a L’Oreal pressed powder.

For eyes I used colours from my CoastalScents 252 Palette, Eyeko Skinny Brush Mascara, an MUA felt liner and a white eye pencil by Savvy for the waterline.

The yellow colour goes over the whole lid then use the orange in the crease and blend gently into the yellow, then go in with the  green under the bottom lashes.

Mini Hong Kong Haul

When my Mum went to Hong Kong recently I couldn’t pass up the opportunity for some cheaper makeup!

Still not as cheap as in the US but definitely better than the abysmal prices I would have paid here in Aus,

I also received the cutest gift for spending a certain amount of money, this is what I call free samples!
